2019 Statistical Mechanics of Soft Matter (SM^2) meeting

SM^2 is an informal discussion meeting on all aspects of the equilibrium and nonequilibrium statistics of condensed matter - fundamentals and applications – relating to liquids, colloids, polymers, gels, biological molecules, liquid crystals and other forms of soft matter. This meeting has evolved into the premier opportunity to meet and discuss with the Australian statistical mechanics community.

A statistical mechanics summer school for research students and postdocs will be held immediately after SM^2 on 18-19 December. Registration is free. Sixth Korean–Australian Rheology Conference, 2011

Daejeon, Korea. 25–27 September 2011.

The 6th Korean–Australian Rheology Conference (KARC) was held in Daejeon, Korea from 25th to 27th September 2011. The conference was organised by the Korean Society of Rheology, in consultation with the Australian Society of Rheology.   For the first time, the conference also included a special session from Korean Society of Plastics Engineers (“SPE Korea”).The conference website provides more information.

For the first time the conference of Statistical Physics of the International Union for Pure and Applied Physics was held here in Australia. This conference showcased the broad field of statistical physics and all its interdisciplinary developments, and culminated in the awarding of the esteemed Boltzmann medal, the highest recognition in the field of statistical physics.
